I spoke today to Wheelies and Pet Shop owners about having now had the alleyway cleared of all rubbish. I asked if they could keep clean and clear their shop rears as part of the action to keep the area now neat and tidy. Will speak to Opticians, Coral and Barclay's next.

After posting and delivering the letter about suggested proposal regarding erecting two alleygates for our Hurst Road Access Alley to all residents houses from 26 to 80 I have received 10 back. I am awaiting others. Cathy has informed me of them that have agreed in principal till more information has been obtained of all costs etc. Maybe I will have to visit those not returned yet as requested to get replies.
Couple of more replies for the alleygates proposal received. List of acceptance growing slowly.Must remember to visit others soon to get forms. All house tenants have now replied 100% to the alleygates proposals. Waiting now on the shops, businesses, traders and flat tenants to agree. Seems slow and will take time.

I attended at the Northumberland Heath Community Forum Meeting at Erith School this evening. I was myself personally most dissappointed by the very low attendance of residents and business traders and the non appearance of the Bexley Council representative, not unexpected. Neighbourhood Police Team attended and gave a report on their aims and successes in our area. Surprised no local area councillors were in attendance as the coming elections are approaching. Might have been interesting to discover what their policies were or intended for the heath area if they are seeking our votes or support. Various views with opinions on items of concern were given to the committee. I voiced my own opinion upon of still the oustanding policy and low interest of Bexley Council Services maintaining litter and rubbish still accumalating and not removed. Mainly Wellington's rear alleyway where rubbish had lain for last 2 years. also Nat West rear carpark accumalation of about 50 bags of rubbish and litter still there after 8 weeks. Good luck to the forum council members in their endeavours for our heath area.
Awaiting more information on the intended installation of Alley Gates.
